Not constant at all, but lethargic or lope the protagonists move in the Tableau „Behaviour“ that is assembled from single takes of two portrait series. When I looked at it, it crossed to my mind what onces Brecht asked for a new german anthem: „Anmut sparet nicht noch Mueh“ („Don’t save on amenity but effort“). The old lady is dancing effortless graceful. The effort before and while dancing is not noticeable fort he viewer. The young guy wearing a GDR sports suit does not give any effort at all. Anyone who discovers symbolism in it, does it on owner’s risk. The tableau is full of references, allusions and associations. It is delightful ambiguous and up-to-date again and again. „Play with us“.
